    Hydraulic spool repair

68 Ford 3500 backhoe. Front bucket control valve leaks. I've replaced the O-rings and that helped but the spool is scored and still leaks. Has anyone had any luck repairing the scored/gouges in the spool itself? With out sending it in to a machine shop. Any luck with brazing or JB weld? Would JB weld hold up? Being that both are softer than the spool, would be able to file down to spool diameter. I'm not looking for new condition. Any other ideas?

I have used jb weld to fix spool valves and actual cylinders. Prep is crucial as is the finish. Needs to be baby butt smooth when your done or you will eat orings and packings.
