My cell is identical to the number of an escort. The way I found out was After I got a few "hey baby are you free" texts, i googled my own number without the area code and that's how I made the connection.

It grosses me out. I showed my gf and she finds it funny. i was pulling this one guy's leg saying I had a pen is. Poor guys, I feel sorry for them, so I dont give them a hard time. :P

ps: not sharing link here. Take my word that she is busted. Use urban dictionary for that term.

I keep two phone lines. A land line and my cell. Whenever I have to cough up a phone number I always give the land line number. It's got an answering machine on it that rejects blocked caller ID calls, and that takes care of a lot of the calls I used to get. The rest of them tend to be automatic dialers that don't leave a message, and the machine doesn't log those calls. I almost never get a message on the machine but it works real well for short-circuiting telemarketers and other assorted idiots.

The phone I talk on regularly is my cell, and I don't give that number to anyone except friends. It would absolutely bug the crap out of me if I started getting calls like the ones the OP described, but I'd also hate to change my number. I never answer my cell unless it's a number I recognize, but it would still be annoying. But if she's been busted I'm guessing the calls will stop before too long. I'd probably give it a few months, and if the calls continued I think I'd have to make a change.

I don't have a cell phone anymoreGot rid of it at the beginning of the year.
Life is soo much better. I have a land line but don't answer it from 8 a to 7p,almost all sales and hang up calls.Leave a message and I will return the call.

I had a similar problem when I first moved into my house in Missouri. The land line we got was the same number as a defunct phone sex line. The calls started at about 11pm each night. We quickly had the number changed...
