I would like to sell these Samsonite saddle bags. All of the brackets to fit a 79F are included. The bags easily detach from the brackets. I do not have the keys to lock the bags. The bolts that hold them onto the brackets are included. I am in central WI, I think the cost of shipping would be quite high. I will take offers.

    Hi Rover,
That is a nice set up. As you state it fits an "F". I have only ever seen these Samsonite bags on Standards.
Anyone know if they can be made to fit Specials?
Samsonite keys are very simple and only about 4 different ones when Samsonite were a leader in luggage.

Yup, you don't see these around very much. I had a set of them on an LG I brought up from the coast and IIRC, I sent them off to someone in Florida! It was quite a task getting them wrapped up in enough cardboard so it sort of looked like a big box...

          bags

If someone is interested in these bags, I am in central WI, about 8 miles west of the new Hy 10, near Marshfield. I travel to Chicago from time to time, either via Milwaukee, or I 94 past Madison, and could deliver them or meet someone along the way. Shipping would be difficult and expensive otherwise. You can phone me at 715-844-3126 after Monday. olddaddy75@gmail.com

              bags

I would like to get $75. If you could pick them up or meet me some distance within reason, I would deal. I really don't like the idea of packaging them for shipping. I paid $75 for the sunbleached hard bags and trunk with no brackets that I put in place of these, cause the newer ones were much larger.

Mikubuilder, how far are you from wherever the ferry lands in Michigan? That would be a nice ride for my family before the lake freezes. I wonder how much a round trip would cost?

I tell you guys on the fence, the Samsonite Tri-Bar system and bags are pretty slick. They may look a bit dated, but so are our bikes. The bags remove easy and hold a good amount.

I think the price is fair. If you are on the fence, just go for it.

To second what John has said. I have had occasion to need extra space at a rally to carry the beer back to the motel and the Samsonite bag used as top box on EarlG`s XS has plenty of space It is an excellent addition to an XS for touring and mere seconds to remove the bags at check in to a motel.

I have an extra bike with that setup, but the PO drilled some holes for lights in them, one is cracked and I'm missing a top case....so this is much better deal. I have a family in Lake Villa, IL, and my cousin works in Milwaukee area all the time, so I might just ask him for a solid...
