So now that we've full-scale hijacked this thread.. How 'bout that Navy bike? John says it gets squirelly at high speed as well.Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

Not since it got new tires on the trip in May. Cured its weave.

last hijack...
Well ever since i installed the front shinko there has been this vibration at speeds I normally cruise at...70-80 and so I believe the tire was not perfectly round to begin with...this is what you get with cheap tires...so since i dont change them 6 times a year i will buy something that is of better quality...sure I'll pay more but with the kind of mileage I do a new tire should last two full seasons... plus i plan to get another ST1100 so the bulk of the LD miles will be on on that...like Brant was doing...end hijack...
BTW John I am happy to see you got the Navy bbike back on the road...Tod and Greg are awesome friends...where would we all be without friends like them???AmenLast edited by madmax-im; 09-11-2015, 04:35 PM.1980 XS650G Special-Two

I just put an Avon Venom on the front of mine, it bites good and corners OK but it's a bit twitchy in the corners and just going straight. I wanted to try a higher quality tire too but I wont buy another one of these.
I like the way the Shinko works up front but like you said Ben, about every other one I have an irritating shake right at 70 that can't be balanced out and as Tod said, after a few hard miles they cup on the edges and sing to you in the corners.Greg

Well, you'd probably have more food and beer in your house, and you'd have less wives saying, "Why do you even associate with these guys and when are they leaving?!?"Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
