  • A Sad Loss For The Community

    http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/in...l#incart_river

Trooper Wolf was considered a friend. He was the local Trooper near our shop who stopped-in on occasion to chat. Ate lunch with him many times at a Tubby's on E. Holly Rd. Sad event, and what's worse is that yesterday was his last day on the road (he chose to ride his bike), as he transferred to the Chaplain Division. You will be missed sir. Thank you for your service to your community and to God.

    Ian,

I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It sounds like he was an honorable man.

What a truly sad story ... something like this is so devastating to the family.

My heart goes out to his wife and children, and I will remember them in my prayers.

    Take care ...

        I heard something about it

Yesterday on the radio as I drove home

The blurb mentioned someone had run over a motorcyclist and dragged them for miles before pulling into a rest stop. That's a really bad way to go. I'm sorry for you, and their loss.

As I read it, it seemed likely that the old guy changed two lanes with the trooper in a blind spot, snagged him under an empty trailer, and proceeded without knowing what he'd done. Malice is one thing, but this looks more like an "I didn't see him" than any evil intentions, given the 72-year-old was questioned and released. The old boy probably thought something was wrong with the trailer and pulled over, only to be horrified by what he saw.

This is twice sad. The family is left without a father and husband and the driver pulling the trailer who is going to carry the horror of what happened with him, every minute and every day for the rest of his life. I can't begin to imagine...

                So tragic.

                  Ian:

Louann and I have been just as distraught as everyone else watching the news in our area. We can't believe such a horrible thing happened. Like the others said, it is a horrible situation for everyone- but it was an accident.

I'm sorry you lost your friend. Thanks for giving him tribute.
                  -Mike

This is exactly what took me so long to pull trigger and buy a bike (at age 38). Fear of stuff like this happening. Makes you rethink everything.

                    So sad.

                      a horrible tragedy

and a devastating loss for the community and especially Trooper Wolf's wife and kids.

Ian, I'm sorry you lost a friend.
