  • We should be ashamed...

    Hey Everybody...
I just gotta' e-mail from a friend in SLOVENIA.
And it gave me a BIG IDEA!

    It goes like this...
We live in the LAND of PLENTY...while some poor kid in Slovenia...tries his A** off to keep and ride (1) 0ne XS 1100!
He is a 'dedicated' member of our group...and what are we doing to help him?
    NOTHING!!!!!!!!
For that, We SHOULD be ASHAMED of OURSELVES!!!!
Now here's the plan...it could be as simple as..." with 1500+ members...each one send in two ($2) dollars...and we buy and ship a bike to him...not that hard...
And think of the warm-n-fuzzy feelin' you'll get knowing we helped some (poor) kid.
With so much X-cess here in the Land-of-plenty...this shouldn't take LONG
I live near major shipping ports in (WA.) and I hear of ships going to Russia...all the time...and there's always Forward Air (Seattle)

I know that not everyone will be willing to participate in this endeavor...so if we get this started...I'll put in the first $200.00
and will 'sheppard' this plan to 'fruition'
Or we can pick another person to 'hold the money' and then begin our search...
We can determine if he wants a 'complete bike' or just some motors...
Decide if it's a 'Special' or 'Standard' that he wants...find it, buy it, and ship it.
Some of us can "look it over" and remove any unwanted stuff (to lighten the load)
WE CAN DO THIS...Christmas is fast approaching...don't miss your chance to 'make some kid, very happy'
Figgure that it will take about $1,500 to $2,000 to 'do this' depending on whether or not he wants motors...or a Bike.
If we start 'spreadin' the word' now this could all be over by December.
Don't start no crap with me about "give him one of yours" 'cause this was MY Idea...and I'll do whatever it takes to help that poor kid (in Slovenia) 'cept that!

SO WHADDYA' SAY?? you guys wanna' do 'something nice' (for someone else) or What?

You can get that warm-n-fuzzy or (I think I'm gonna puke) feeling
    for VERY LITTLE effort!
And we can PROVE (once and for all) that Americans are 'NICE'
    And XS riders "RULE"

    "Whip it good"

You said we could 'look it over' ad remove the 'unwanted stuff". Hell, why don't I just donate the bare frame from Organ Donor. That's all that will be left anyway. It would look like a school of pirahannas got to it.

PS You and Geezer really had me going the other day. Don't I feel stoooopid

If this is not a joke, put me on the list for the next charity drive.

I have the fanatasy of flying to the UK, snagging an XS and then riding it to deliver it to Strom. Of course, I'm not Bill Gates, so...I'm good for $40.

I know there are a lot of other strugglers, but the gringo struggle isn't quite the same.

We need to get it set up as a PayPal button.

This sounds like a good idea. I don't want to be the negative one, but somebody has to do it.

I don't know if anyone has shipped something like this overseas before. I work for an airline. First, are you sure Forward Air ships internationally? There are several permits involved. Also, and this is out of everyone's control, unless he "knows" someone in or near the custom's service in his country, it could take months to get it cleared through customs. It's not impossible. But I do know it can be quite a challenge sometimes. Especially with a big ticket item such as this.

          Just some things to consider.
If it won't go, force it. If it breaks, it needed fixing anyway.
