  • The Blue Max...

Not only did I have a Maxim sighting today it was Blue too...you're not going to see another one like it anytime soon...ahhh but those attending the XSSE rally this year will be able to get up close and personal with it...This bike started out really rough and I watched it being torn down to the frame and rebuilt...engine too...wish this was mine but its not...this is the workmanship of Mark Lew and the bike is his wife's..I've already offered up Swampthing as an even trade...ofc that aint gonna happen...

Yep. Mark has shown he has exceptional talent. His SG shows that nice as well. Ben, did you get a close look at the old car? Is it a Dodge?

          Sweet Maxim! Nice...

I always liked the looks of the stock seat, but like Tod always said,
"It was forged in the hubs a H*ll !" Lol!

Lucky for me, Miles Baker had already had mine redone by the time I bought it!
          Mine was nice.............

If that bike runs as well as it looks, that's a keeper.

Yes I have even ridden in it...1930 Dodge Brothers...I have gone to local car shows that Mark attends...you all might have a surprise or 2 at XSSE... Ya know a certain XSive guru I was having a lively discussion with once dismissed Mark's skill and knowledge because he is a HVAC mechanic and not an engine mechanic...to which I assert is pure bull****...Mark's skills, knowledge and abilities to do any and everything any other excellent mechanic can do is not in question by me...if anything i question someone who insisits they are right...via the internet and not there in person to diagnose a problem...I have 200% faith in Mark...and he is the first person I bring Swamp girl to... That "HVAC" comment has stuck in my craw ever since...

I can understand that! It's not what we do for money, it's what we know about bikes/cars. I'm usually pretty good ad diagnostics, not always the best with a wrench. Online, it's ALL JUST A SWAG*. You need to be there to really understand the problems.

Thanks for the positive comment Ben.
I don't know if the new Maxim will make XSSE this year. The trans slipped in first gear on the test ride. It pissed me off because it did not do that on the ride before it was torn down. This bike was ridden at XSSE a few years ago by my friend Jim and he never had problems with the trans. For those of you who remember, Jim wrecked his V-Star last year on the first day of XSSE.

The Car is a 1930 Dodge Brothers DC8, I'll post a pic when I can figure out how.

That's still a nice XJ, I see lots of hard work in polishing. I would be proud to ride it.
