  • Ransomware: Have you hugged your analog XS today?

Give your dumb, computer and radio-free, analog, XS1100 a big ol' hug whenever you see a news story about crackers and ransomware taking over vehicles.

It hasn't happened to motorcycles -- yet.

You know the real mistake is connecting everything to the internet. Cars trucks every bank all your information and if its connected to the internet and it is accessible. Most times easily accessible once you know how the connection is made. Love all things in life not connected to the internet cause some day all that is will be taken away. Most people do not know that if a government wanted to they could change your entire history make you into a criminal take your possessions. You still have control over that XS11 though.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

I know what you mean. I'm on my 2nd CD after losing the album and a cassette to wives and girlfriends. May be I should stop getting new ones? Nah.

Oh how true!! Chrysler is recalling ALL 2014-2015 vehicles with the 8" dash display! Seems they are easily hacked, and the hacker can shut down part or all of the controls in the car! Engine, steering, brakes, etc.
