Had a massive headshake on my 2003 V Strom 1000 as the speedo hit 105 mph, fully loaded with hard bags, top case, and tent strapped on the passenger seat. Too much rearward weight bias. Rolled out of it, speedo dropped down through 100 mph and went away as quick as it came.

I had to use every ounce of muscle I had in my arms to keep from losing it in those brief seconds. The V Strom has a tendency for that, and from reading on the forum I knew it and had mentally prepared, per se, so it didn't catch me by surprise that it happened, only how violent and forceful those bars start oscillating.

Lifted the front-end this morning. Did not feel any looseness while pulling on the wheel, nor notchiness when turning the handlebars (loaded). Will check into torque specs of each bolt/nut up there.

If wheel was off the ground you likely would'nt feel anything rotating left to right. The 'load' is on the top bearing/race, not bottom one. left to right, turning loose of the bars, wheel should slowly flop to either side, not just clunk....its there thing.
