  • Hurry Up Summer

Hard to believe that it's March 14th. out there. This is our second winter from Hell that has substantially delayed the start of the "safe" biking season. We still have 3 to 4 feet of snow along the road ways and 2 - 3 feet of snow on the ground.
The freezing rain warning for today means that I can't even roll the bikes outside to straighten out the garage for the spring summer season.
The GOOD news is that I did have my 79 restored bike in the laneway on Tuesday when temperatures managed to reach +8 for a single day of teasing. She was stubborn to start but did fire up. Once she was fully warmed up she ran at least as well as she was running last fall.
    HURRY UP SUMMER!

Wow, I don't know how you Canadians do it. 8°f !!! Hell, I avoid driving my car at temps that low. On the bike, 30°f has me holding my tail between my legs. Winter rides usually end with me heading home about 2 minutes into any trip. Summer is coming, STAY WARM!

Canada uses the "C" temps, so +8C is NOT +8F! It should be about 41F...(I know it's not exact, but at that temp, close is good)

          Hurry UP Summer

I know the feeling. Been to Chicago many times. Was stranded there once due to a record snowfall in February (lucky me). Both Midway and O'Hare were closed. I have since avoided that area during winter time.

Good News. Tomorrow's (Sunday) forecast for North Georgia - SUNNY AND 74 DEGREES F.

No snow on the sides of the road or on the ground here. Everything has started to turn green.

Cure for long, cold winters - HEAD SOUTH!

I've been working on the '79 today. I live on the North end of the Monterey Bay, and it was mid 80's F today. It's just luck that I am third generation native to this area. Smart ancestors I guess.

Just think soon it will be in the 60's up in Canada an you will need all your horsepower just to push all the mosquitos out of the way.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

                Hi Ron,
according to my late Boss, who came to Canada via the Afrika Korps, Canada has the perfect climate:-
All summer, no snow; all winter, no mosquitos.

It's near impossible to move the USA from Canada. If it was doable I would already be there.
