How's it goin'!

I've been away from XS11s for a while; found out Mom has cancer so I kind of lost interest in fuzting with my bikes. I survived a major heart attack last Monday and I made it to the ER in time to spend the better part of last week in a couple of hospitals getting two stents put in my heart.

After waking up on the right side of the dirt again this morning I talked with my doctor and she says I'm going to live if I don't get more stupid than usual.
So now I'm a definite non-smoker and riding a motorcycle while taking two different blood thinners is probably one of those "more stupid than usual" activities I'm supposed to avoid but will do anyway just because.

I'm actually having a pretty good time being alive, I'm just moving a little slower but I think this is going to be fun!

He took a break from the forums towards the end of the summer. Said he was spending too much time on the forums helping others with their stuff while neglecting his own. Wanted to do more riding and less typing.

Blood Thinners vs. Balance

I have a blood condition that has more letters in the name than my keyboard. The thinners affect my balance in that I must rely on sight to stay upright. I have trouble walking in the dark. I no longer ride at night.
As luck would have it, when I ride I have my eyes mostly open. It took some conditioning but I do not rely on balance to ride. At slow speed or stopped, I just keep the preceded horizon in perspective and do whatever I need to keep it that way.
Sometimes when I climb off the bike and remove my helmet, I lose visual acuity and stumble around like a drunk. It hasn't happened yet but there will be some 'splaining to do if I had to perform a field sobriety test.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Take care of her, hope she's around a good long time for you. As to riding on blood thinners, just try to be safe. That's what I do, but Then again, I'm a Hemophiliac that rides a motorcycle, I know, not the best hobby for someone with my ailment, but what the hell, everyone does something, right? Anyway, prayers that the good lord is looking out for you and yours. Have a nice day and ride safe
