how I calibrate speedos.
Find a high speed drill that will turn speedo at exactly 60mph for one minute. Note the mileage attained or not attained. A calibrated speedo will clock off exactly one mile. You can calculate the accuracy by how many tenths are added or shorted in the odometer. This is not perfect as the odo is in tenths. You can then guess on how much the needle has to be moved backward or forward. example if the odo clicks off 9 3/4 miles the speedo is too fast at 60 and the speedo is actually a percentage too fast because you only traveled 9 3/4 miles in one minute at a speedo speed of 60. The speedo is therefore 2.5% too fast at 60mph. You would actually have been traveling at 58.5 MPH . You need to have the speedo apart to calibrate it. I have done this on 5 speedos and then checked it against the mileage markers of the freeway. Got it close most of the time, dead on once.

My cordless spins at 23mph, one that spins at 60 might be a little scary.
I'll just match with a known good guage at 23.Greg
