    Hi Marty,
A friend had a convertible like that that we spent a wonderful summer charging around the neibourhood with the top down looking for girls
As there were typically 4 of us in it not sure where the girls were supposed to sit Ah to be young and foolish again. His older brother had a Sunbeam Tiger..
    Thanks for the memory

My dad remembers five guys in that car stuck in a snow storm. No money college students fed by the Red Cross in a little Western NY town. My mother says her car was grey with red trim and a red interior.

        Hi Marty,
Grey with Red leather interior is what i recall. I believe the early ones were 850cc 4 cylinder that was the origin of the Mini engine.

          Some trivia

Maxwell Smart drove a Tiger. They have a 289 Ford V8 in them. The basic car has a 4 cylinder engine. You can tell the difference by the black vents at the rear of the front fender.
The larger Morris is an Oxford. A nearly identical car is an ISIS, the bonnet is 6 inches longer to fit a 6 cylinder Healy motor.

            Corrections

            Memory playing tricks.
The black vents are further back on an 1800E Volvo to indicate fuel injection.
The Sunbeam has a chrome " Tiger " badge at the rear of the front fender.
Early cars had a 260 cubic inch Ford, the last batch the 289 Ford.
And I ran a 312 Ford Thunderbird engine in my 37 Ford hearse.

The Sunbeam Tiger was powered by a Ford 260 ci engine. The car was imported by Chrysler.

The early cars had the 260 engine, the last 663 had the 289. Chrysler purchased Rootes shares and killed the Sunbeam, as the did not have an engine to fit.

After I realized my initial error regarding the vent, I checked with Wikipedia.

I used to know of a fellow who was coming regularly to Saturday night cruise-ins in the suburbs south of Atlanta. He was usually driving his Duesenberg. He told me, "I plan to wear it out. Why have it if I can't enjoy it?" I certainly enjoyed seeing it at the drive in restaurant every month. When that thing shows up, suddenly everyone elses' high dollar street rod or collector car fades into the background. I say, by all means, if you can afford it, then enjoy it as you see fit.
