Found a deal for an extra motor on a rolling frame with not much more than that for $75. I love my bike, but have no plans of buying another XS. However, having an extra motor seems smart. Thoughts?

I would do I it in a hart beat!
In fact I have 4 different time.
Put one together out of extra parts and sold it for $900.
Used one engine for my 78 that I put a hole in the #3 cylinder and the case.
Used the head off one for the 80LG
The last one I am putting together for my wife (its an XJ).
Just having the spare engine would be worth it.Ty

You are asking a guy that has 6 11's plus most of another engine???
The answer is Yes,at a minimum the nuts and bolts are worth that not to mention the pulser coils clutch,gearbox etc.and you can remove the outer covers.... clean detail and polish them to transfer to your bike with no down time78standard,79 & 80 Specials; 2 x 650 Maxims; 4 x RD350's; yz450; 2 x Honda tlr's;2x jt1 mini.Comment
