I certainly hope that's the case. Thing of it is, this is his job, or at least, he has made it so for some time. He can't just leave without saying goodbye. It's going to ruffle our feathers.

I spoke to someone at his house. He is ok but I did not speak with him. I asked he come online and pop his head up. He might be tired of questions about which oil

Yes, I'm still alive!!!!
It's great that the forum watches out for it's members....
Yep, I've been absent for a while, lots of changes going on in my life, pretty much all good things. As John found out, I now have a lady friend living here (love is in the air.... lol), I didn't feel good yesterday and needed to get some serious sleep; been burning the candle a bit too hot... I got your message John, but it got erased by accident.... sorry I didn't get back to you.
As some may remember, I bought a hot rod last year (http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39996), and I also joined the local car club. The club has been keeping me extremely busy (at 64, I'm one of the younger active members! LOL!) with local runs/shows, been a lot of fun. Met a lot of great people (even a few 'bikers'!). The hot rod has been mostly good, I have addressed some of the 'issues' I had with it, but not knowing the source of some of the bits swapped in has made it a bit interesting finding replacements... besides finding out some parts were homemade. The original builder did some 'interesting' things with the wiring too; crawling around under the dash is sure hard on my back....
And getting back into dating can definitely consume some time. I met a very nice gal, and after some months of semi-long distance dating she agreed to move in. Of course, with a new lady, she wasn't all that pleased with my ex's 'yard sale chic' interior decorating (and not that I blame her) so I now have some 'honey-do' things on my plate too... LOL. As well as buying some new home furnishings... Not to mention disposing of the 'excess' vehicles in the yard... LOL.
The bikes have been pushed to the back burner, but not forgotten. My GF does ride (something the ex wouldn't do), so I have a motivation to get something going. I haven't touched any of them for months for various reasons, but still intend to get after them, probably this winter at this point. The XJ11 project is still 'in progress', I hope to post some XJ-only tech threads once I get going on it again, although I need to replace my computer at some point if I'm going to do that (another reason I haven't been posting.. 'puter issues). My Sportster is my only currently running bike and as it's not a very good 'two-up' bike, I need to get one of the 11s running...
Another issue, not so good, is my older sister is having memory problems. She lives an hour away, so trying to keep tabs on her is a bit of a problem. Her son lives in NY and has been supportive, but there's only so much he can do long distance; I'm the 'guy on the ground'. Her car got 'stolen' a few weeks ago, turns out she forgot where she parked it and we had to get it out of impound after it sat unattended at the mall for multiple days.... Of course, she denies she has a problem, so we've been praying that she doesn't have any sort of bad catastrophe before it gets to point where we can do something (which I'm sure she'll hate...).
Anyway, I'm still alive and well, life is mostly good if extremely busy, and once I get 'caught up' I'll try to get back here on a more regular basis.
Thanks for thinking of me!!!Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Steve,
It's OK if you go on vacation from us, but you need to check out. After all, this has been like your full time job. You go away suddenly and we're going to worry. I'm very happy to hear about the positive things going on.Marty (in Mississippi)

To be honest, I've felt a bit guilty about not posting, but I've been so busy and hated to post and not be available for follow-up.

Not acceptable Steve, the only lady friend you are allowed to have are made of cast aluminum and forged steel. Don't you know the "other kind" are trouble?
Glad to hear things are well. If you manage to get a minute check out the questions I posted in the FJ fork conversion thread, thanks. Prayers for your sister, mental health issues are some of the hardest to deal with.'79 XS11 F
