  • Anybody else worried about the Russian hackers?

Have any of you seen/heard about the Russian Hackers Ring that have been outed as having acquired some 1.2 billion username and passwords from over 400,000 websites? They(our gov't or such) have not expanded on this information, so we don't know what websites...ie. Facebook, etc., but they did say that so far the info has only been used to hack twitter accounts.

I hate having to go to ALL of the websites that I deal with and change all of my passwords! With the recent hack scare of a few months ago, I would hope that sites like my bank and paypal are secure? I recently changed my Paypal and eBay pswds because of a recent breach reported by eBay. I use a seperate special pswd for my bank account, a different one for my paypal/ebay, but for most of the other sites I use the same pswd because it's too much of a pain to try to keep/remember 20 or so different pswds!

I, for one, welcome our new Russian overlords!

The Russians would have improve my credit rating before they could use my financial information to steal anything.

If you follow standard safety practice of different quality passwords and the change of them you should be pretty safe. The only advice I can give is delete all check account information off all sites buy putting in a new account with bogus information as primary or if service is free change account number threw bank. Get a new debit card if you use it and new credit card if that is what you use. A good safety plan is get a restricted credit card with low spend limit or maybe one you buy and load money for use on the WEB.

By far the biggest risk to loosing your money identity etc is if you had to sign up for OBAMA CARE because they have linkage to your whole life background, credit history, social security, work history, where you have lived, kids names, medical history, your accounts all of them. The big risk there is its all linked together in one place a big shopping mall. Considering the quality of everything else done in the role out feeling that data is safe is a figment of your imagination.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

They have all that anyways, even if you didn't sign up for ObummerCare.
