  • "Life" is what happens...

...When you're making other plans. I insured my bike for the season the night before last. It was an ordeal, as a clerical error stated that someone else had claim to my bikes VIN. "What???" I ask, since I've had the bike since 2000. A trip back home to photograph the vin for the insurance thieves and an hour past closing time, I had my sticker and temporary insurance until "They worked it out". Having to be up for work the next morning at 5 cancelled my plans for the 1st ride of the season. Oh well; there's always tomorrow night...

I'm a Corrections Officer and as such had to respond to a medical emergency on the unit. Being the 1st on the scene, I had to hold down an Offender who was having the worst siezure I had ever witnessed...5-7 minutes each and 5 minutes apart. Liability factors and fear of reprisals among the other responders left myself and another "Similar Sized" officer as the only people holding him down on the floor of the cell. My problematic left knee took a beating and felt like a bag of broken glass by the time the EMTs arrived on scene and I got relieved...

Now, I have a bike with new rubber and insurance and fluids. Parked without a single ride. Specialist appointment on Monday with the possibility of a wiped out season as a result...all for the sake of a Protective Segregetion Offender who just 2 weeks ago threatened to get me on the outside. Ain't Life Grand...?
