What is it they say...? Everything's for sale, for the right price?
Doubt anyone would pay my price, though!
Nope... I'm very satisfied...
Just thinking Ben might like to step up from that Honda for his next sport tourer.
A step up in ponies........bout it. You gotta remember, specificly the ST11 is AGAIN this year the number one of the top ten tourers/sport tourers....STILL.
I would of figured the Wing, Beemer, or Connie would of trumped that.......not even close.
Good to hear some of you eastward are attending.....least you'll catch some cool air for afew days!

Yeah... Right now I'm kinda getting frustrated with Kawi, honestly.
They just keep churning out the same C14 every year.
The last upgrade came in 2010. Since, the only other changes have been changing silver wheels to black in 2012, and adding a couple of colors.
Hoping they upgrade some things for '15, but not sure they will.
Yamaha's FJR, meanwhile, has underwent many upgrades in just the past couple of years.
The C14's a great bike, but it's getting long in the tooth, and needs some revamping to stay in the hunt.
I was just teasing Ben a bit, I know how much he's liked that ST.
I've been watching the forecast for the Canon City area for next week.
Looks rainy through Thursday, then says it will be in the 90's?
I was hoping for a nice change and some cool temps.

Bob I sold it because I needed to liquidate some assests. I had my cage and the ST up forsale at the same time...so the cage almost sold but the ST beat it out...my last ride on the ST was a 350 mile daytrip and I wasnt comfortable for one mile without that Russell seat(sold it separately). Hard to believe the old XS11 is more comfortable for me to ride and about 100 lbs lighter too...but my real passion as I have said is for the XS/XJ1100s'

Well I'm pretty much done with LD rides...but I sure would love a new FJR1300...but I'd prefer the Yamaha Super Tenere...as that gives me the ability to go off road as well.
I agree with Brant...that the ST1100 is voted the best sport tourer of its class...it doesnt shine in any one area but yet it does everything well...sure the the others have more HP or are lighter weight and have better handling...but when you add it up as a total pkg,,,the ST1100 comes out on top.
And Bob if you think your Connie is getting long in the tooth...consider this with Honda...the ST1100 design ran 11 model years...UNCHANGED until they revamped it into the ST1300 in 2003 which has remained UNCHANGED to this day. Honda for all intents and purposed has totally abandoned the Sport Tour segment while every other manufacturer has moved on and offers an updated or new sport tour machine...Triumph,Yamaha,BMW,Suzuki,Moto Guzzi,Harley Davidson and even the Kawasaki C14 is more modern and up to date than the '03 designed Honda...for the life of me I have no clue what Honda folks have been smoking...Their latest offerings look like the design team has been experimenting...with LSD

I agree with you about the new Honda designs and their looks...
The things I wish Kawi would address are:
1) Add a cruise control. Or, at least put a throttle lock on it! They classify it as a "Super-Sport Tourer" yet have neither. That was the first aftermarket money I spent on it.
2) change tire brands, and the rear size! The BT-021's Battleaxe's only last about 5000 miles before they're toast, and the fronts wear badly. Michelin PR2's are much better, and will go 12k, with no abnormal cupping on the front. Most run either the 3's or now the 4GT's, and go from a 50 series rear to a 55. Changing the rear to a 55 makes a HUGE difference in handling. It also corrects a 3 mph speedometer error, too. All stock C14's speedo's read 3 mph fast. The FJR and now the BMW RT's have gone this direction. Last I heard though, the BMW K1600GT/GTL still hasn't, and uses the exact same tires and sizes of the Battleaxe.
3) a better seat choice... Like the one I have finally gone too...the Kawasaki Gel seat. Huge improvement! Better than Sargent, and even works better than the Russell...looks better, too. Height adjustability would also be nice.
4) touring pegs, dropped peg brackets, and handlebar risers.
5) improve the guage cluster, and include navigation.
6) electronic, active suspension adjustment.
Just a few things like these would easily put the C14 back on top as the King of the Sport Tourers again.
Yamaha's reworked and addressed all of these issues in the past 2 years.
If Yamaha offered the same extendable warranty like Kawasaki, (mine comes with 3 years, extendable twice, up to 9 years...costs $350 for each extension,) the FJR would be tough to beat. It's been showing it's age too, but at least they're addressing the issues.
Yamaha's is 1 year, then you pay to extend, and only once.
I agree with how long Honda repeated the same model. Kawasaki did the same thing with the previous C10 model.
But, the market is changing... fast. To stay on top, or even be mentioned in the bike mags these days, you gotta stay up with technology.
Kawai's got their attention focused on other models right now, (like the Z1000/ Ninja 1000, and the ZX-14, FZ-09, etc.)
It's taken me a while, but I finally have my C14 set up just the way that works for me. Huge difference compared to stock.
Just wished it had come stock with all the mods I've done.
The C14's suspension, frame, power, smooth-shifting 6 speed transmission, and fuel economy/ range has been it's strong points, though.
