Sad day but yet a happy one...amazingly both bikes are nearly identical in mission...and both are quite accomplished road warriors respectively...my roots are closer to Yamaha...a 35 year old bike that does what the ST will do but not quite as well...but good enough...
I will miss the ST... It has been the best machine I have ever owned but I was no longer comfortable on it so I has moved on down the road. A younger man who just loves it...so the bike will not lanquish in the shed as it has been.

Good to hear it all worked out for you Ben........bet you were beginning to wonder if folks thought the ST was an UFO from across the pond or something.

              St 1100

A good friend of mine has a red ST1100. You may remember it being at last year's rally. I don't think he would consider getting a different bike. They have a lot going for them for sure. I would like to try one on one time. Maybe one day..............

Better yours has gone to a new home where it will be cherished Ben. Sad and glad at the same time - I forget what they call that?

The Honda is a very fine machine but my roots are yamaha...the very first street bike that I learned on was a Yamaha XS650...and then by chance everything else has been too with the exception of 2 Honda STs'. And nearly 30 full years owning my XJ1100 Maxim....Swampthing has closer ties to my family because it was on Long Island NY and ofc my friendship with Randy being able to ride at rallies and see the bike those years previously only cemented my appreciation for this bike...finally the vintage and venerable XS/XJ1100s are truly where my passion lies...so... on down the road it goes....

The ST is a lovely bike though. I think it was called a 'Pan European' over here. They're not a bike for a quock blast to the shops, or mucking around on though, are they? With the fairing and panniers and so on, they can eat up the miles the miles. Quite honestly, for a long tour, I'd prefer the ST to an XS.....

Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

The ST is versatile enough to muck around on...Long Distance riding is not my mission any more...so the XS1100 will suffice.
