  • Another Meeting with Down$hift

Met-up with Gabe earlier to grab my Carbtune and to admire each other's bikes. I could not believe how soft his clutch-pull was compared to mine (you were right Greg). I think Gabe's steering was much smoother than mine parked. His bike felt so much lighter than mine.

However . . . It was obvious after riding his bike that he was losing some power with those straight pipes. Note: I said "some", which does not mean very much. However, the difference between his bike and mine is honestly night & day with regard to the overall performance of the engine.

I expected him to come back with a big smile, but he was calm like Cool Hand Luke. Still never raced, and with a State Trooper parked at the gas station, it woulda never happened, lol. Good luck in Rhode Island Gabe!

Have you serviced the steering head bearings Ian? Those working smoothly makes a world of difference in cornering.

Did he have a crossover on the straight pipe?
I used high temp hose and it works pretty good.

You guys should have called me, I had some spare time

I like his bikes low stance, but I also like my straight seat...as to performance I cannot say, him pulling out of garage sure makes a great impression
