Don't do it. Don't scrimp out on the mask. I had a friend who used to paint cars and bikes on the side and wound up dieing from complications from breathing the paint fumes. I think he was using IMRON paint.
Like your head. If you have $10 lungs use a $10 mask. Value your lungs. Use the mask that is recommended.
Plus painting outside is bound to get bugs and debris in it.
