  • Yamaha Parts out the wazoo!

I saw an ad for $10K worth of Yamaha NOS parts for $700 and ended up buying the junk. Now have thousands of NOS parts for vintage Yamahas. Please don't ask what I have yet because I don't know, it will take quite a while to inventory this stuff. What I would like to know is if any body knows of a reverse parts look up...type in part number and gives me the applications? Not sure how to match this stuff up to the bike it comes from, any ideas?

    Thanks!!!

I can type in the numbers...at bikebandit.com, or partsfish.com, and it will tell me if it is currently available and the price. BUT it won't tell me what bikes it fits, they assume I know that since I want/need the part.

Some parts I might be able to find by the model number like say a 2H7-XXXXX-XX I know it goes on an XS11 (or something in the same family) but a lot of the numbers are like this format: 90387-07390-00 this is a general number for nuts, snap rings, collars with no way to know how many bikes they fit.

When you put something on ebay usually you list the bikes it fits since that is how most people look the stuff up. Maybe thats a little more clear?

I will let you guys know what I have for XS's as soon as I know. There was a new pilot box for a standard sitting right on top ( I KNOW what this looks like!), but other than that, I got no clue.

      Thanks

Hey Gary, if it starts with 10M throw it in a box and let me know how much you want.....10M being the XJ prefix........

          Gary,
If you go to the yamaha's electronic parts catalog and go to the motorcycle section pick any one of the years and start going down the models for that year and select the service data sheets you should be able to get the engine/ frame ID # and then start compiling the parts per the ID # for most of the parts. That would be my starting point if I was cataloging parts.
