  • Replacing air box with pods-do I need to adjust my carbs?

I took out my air box on my XJ and am replacing it with 4 individual pods. Can anyone offer me any advice on carb adjustments that I need to make?

You may have to increase main jet size up a couple, I would try it first the way it is and see how she runs, check the spark plug color and go from there.

If your running stock exhaust, it is likely stock jetting will work fine for you. If your running an aftermarket exhaust, it becomes less likely, but it may still work fine for you.

I would follow Phil's advice, he is a very smart guy.

MZ, stock jet sizes for an XJ should be 47.5 pilot jet and 112.5 mains. Careful about the type of pods you run, some cheaper ones block the air jets in the back of the carb.
