It was 70 here on Thursday, upper 50s today. And tonight and tomorrow we may get more white fluffy stuff.

Hmm, the highest temp for this week is going to be +16

and the lows dipping down to -15

        spring? What spring?

        snowmobile territory..

some day i'll figure out pictures and post the pictures of a machine i've seen.

you attach a motorcylce to the top of a twin track assembly and a ski mounts to the forks. the tracks a driven by the chain drive on th bike.

the only thing i didn't see was a way to stop, i didn't find any sort of brakes.....

maybe that's why it never caught on...

Yep. Pretty good ones, too. Hydraulic disc that will lock up your track pretty quickly. Just as in other scenarios, though, you want to avoid lockup if you can. You get shorter stopping distances if you don't lock up.

                  Spring

I was in Cuba for two weeks. Got back early Tuesday morning. 30C in Cuba, 11 inches of snow at Mrs snippets place. Minus 30C for the folks that got off in Calgary. That is a 60 degree swing in temperature.
Minus 6 C when I rode Yami just before I left.

Yes, my sled has good brakes (studded track) (99 ski-doo mxz 500)

th old conversion i was talking about, similar to the above picture, but a "twin track" circa 1973

i love sleds, all the power, all the speed, more air-time, less pain if you botch

                        Winter

I am so sick of this winter, record snow falls and extreme cold temps. In my heart I want a fast thaw and early spring but with the snow we have on the ground, everthing will be flooded. Guess thats the price we pay up here for not having our yards full of alligators and snakes year round. LOL

Snowed yesterday, snowed today, gona snow again soon I bet. For i can not remember how long usually after mid Feb here it has warmed up not this year.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.
