If you got a nice / warm / blue sky day with a spare 3 hours to explore then go out to Grosse Tete and drive down LA77 south to Plaquemine. Very interesting. Just don't get shot.

From there could take the ferry across to the east side of the Mississippi River or go down to Donaldsonville and cross on the bridge then drive back to BR up the River Road. Could find some good local shack eats along that route. About 60 miles down, 45 miles back. As for BR food, we usually stay in Lafayette and go to Prejeans.

You found the right place if the Chef looks like this -or- if the Chef is serving this
this is place in Vacherie next to Laura Plantation where I took Ted & Heather

Well I don't know about the eating places very much because I am from about 65 miles south (New Orleans) but I might be there at the basketball tournament.

I am an officer in the Civil Air Patrol (Auxiliary of the Air force) and we may have a couple of our cadets on the color guard for the event. Not sure about it yet but if I do go I will send you a PM and maybe we can meet.

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.
