  • I can't get away from the XS

I don't store my bike for the winter, i ride it. A while back i aquired a 1991 CBR1000F, and got it put together. For a heavy old carbureted bike, it runs realy well, and handles well. Today i took the XS out for a spin. Have not rode it for a month or more. I had more fun, and was more comfortable and relaxed on that bike than i can explain. I am giving serious thought to selling that CBR1000F. I guess the XS just spoils us. I think it is a great bike, and will ride it till it dies.

    Please go to hell!

I agree though, I still love my 11 more than any other bike I ride. Just something special about them.

Agreed, Newbie. I enjoy mine every time I'm on it. Last Sunday, for instance. 59, sunny, cruising south on 101. Turned into the shade, temps dropped 10 degrees instantly, felt like a frig. Loved my Pacifico with lowers, No problems on a 30-40 mile ride. Then the rains (and wind) came, so he's had a week off.

Oh yeh well I rode Yami 70 miles yesterday from my Island to Victoria BC. Got here before this awful crappy weather. High winds and rain. Could be stuck on the boat for a while.
You are further South than me but a bit further inland. And it gets cooler inland.
Have not been to Portland for a few years.

Roughly 4 feet of snow here, so most roads are impassable with a bike. Just wish I had high winds and rain to deal with for a while so I could take one out for a wee ride.

It blew so hard last night it would blow us over. I swapped half a lane the other day going through a highway intersection.
But at least we can travel in the wet and wind. My Yami is worse than useless in the snow. But I have only had to delay riding two times this winter.
I will put the most heavily treaded tyres on my 400 Seca ( Deep purple ) for the worst days of winter.
Out here it is just wet and windy, not a real Canadian winter without the blowing snow. BTDT, served my time, driven over nearly all of the mountain passes out here in the winter.
If we do get buried with snow on my Island, I just put chains on my tractor and we are good to go. Made $1000.00 in one week in 008. Folks out here get freaked out by any snow.
