Hi guys. Been out of the loop for a while, so a story is in order.
Not long after selling my SG, which i think has changed hands two times since, I developed an issue with my voice, which turned out to be throat cancer. After a lot of to and fro-ing, I'm just home after 6 weeks of radiation in another city, and feeling like ive been hit by a bus. Oncologist says the outcome will be good, but it doesnt feel like it at the moment. I cant talk, which the wife loves, i'm eating mush, and throwing up every second mouthful. Oh Joy. Never Mind, i'll get over it. I'm far too stubborn for any different outcome.
Ive currently got my eye on an E but the guy wants far too much for it yet. Give him a while, he'll come down. Its almost original as far as i can tell, but it needs some work, and it's got gold wheels, so i guess it's been frankencycled at some point. I'll keep working on him, and get it for what i want to pay. In the meantime ive still got the XJR to play with. (not that i can ride it at the moment, cant get my helmet on due to radiation burns on my throat).
On a much happier note, some of you may remember about 3 years, a post about my daughter recovering from surgery for pancreatic cancer, and going skydiving, and promising that she'd get me to take a jump. Well, it looks like thats going to happen this christmas, providing my own recovery is going okay.
When she got sick she was half way through extra mural papers for corporate/contract law, which she had to give up for a year while she was dealing with her illness. She's been trying to get back to it ever since. For the last year she's been living and working in Australia, making money, and has booked tickets to come home for christmas. I got a text from her last night to say that she's been accepted into Otago University next year to complete her degree. Otago Uni is about 180 miles from home, so i'm over the moon. So proud of her for not letting anything getting in her way, and never loosing site of her goals, and absolutely chuffed she's coming home. My little girl is coming home.
Thats her on the left (blond) in Bali earlier this year.
