  • New color for my E

Some of you that go to XS11.org know that I've been trying to decide on a color for the 78 E I'm putting together. I really liked the way the leaf green turned out on The Green Hornet and I wanted to pick a color that will pop like it did and be different from any other XS.

I've pretty solidly decided on the old Chrysler color they used on the early 70s muscle cars " Plum Crazy Purple ".

    What do y'all think?

Umm, a color is something that nobody can decide for you. How about Carmine Red?

Everybody has a RED XS. Everywhere I go I see at least a half dozen red ones.

        Hi Greg,
time was, I bought a car that was painted radiation warning magenta.
Seller said he bought it new.
        I asked him:-
"If you bought it new WTF did you choose that vile color?"
"Because they knocked a grand off the price just to get it off the lot."
        "What a nice color."
But hey, I painted my XS11 rig tow-truck orange so what do I know?

Cute Marty, that's the same thing Ivan said over on .org.

Everybody was calling the green bike Kermit too until they saw how awesome it turned out.

Truthfully, I restored an XS650 for my daughter. She wanted it purple. We painted it black with purple glass in the paint. It's gorgeous, with its new gold badges. It the garage, it's black. In the sun, it's purple.

I'm leaning towards the purple with gold metal flake if I can find it. It might be a little over my head as far as painting skill but I think it would look awesome with some gold trim.
