  • Season over

Well, Hermes and I made it through another riding season. Had to put him away today, just too cold now. I won't ride him next season as I plan on having the E completed and intend on riding it to shake out the kinks. Be nice to ride with a full fairing for once. Not as young as I used to be and the reduced work on my neck and shoulders will be welcome.

              Hi Sparkfly,
It only rains above freezing so rain means it still good to GO

                Snow

In Quinte they are predicting snow over night. I could have probably nursed a few more days out riding but it would just take to long to heat up the tires and all the construction happening at this time of year just isn't worth the chance of going down. I'm glad you like how he still looks. It's been about four seasons now since his resurrection, so I"m happy all the work is lasting as I intended. As I mentioned, he won't be ridden next year. The E will be completed by spring.

                  Rain

Out here on the left coast it rarely snows. But it does rain often enough that riding in the rain is not an option.
Scooters are popular for the young working crowd. On my Island we are so relaxed that no one goes anywhere if it snows. And I make bucks plowing driveways with my tractor.
It is possible for a good rider to ride on snow and ice, but not on a tank like these bikes.
I will put heavy treaded tyres on my Yami 400 when i get it running.

                    Hi Mack,
May to October in Ontario is about as much as we can hope for reliable riding weather.

Threw some new tires on my '81 and changed the oil, then my oldest son rode that and I rode my XJ on a little 200 mile ride today on some back roads with no particular place to go. Sunny and close to 70, though it is supposed to get down to about 20 degrees by Tues night. Just a really nice day riding with my kid.

                      Brought to mind a Quote:

"One of those rare times when your mood, the road, and the bike all coalesce into a kind of drip feed of inexpressible pleasure that lasts all day long and into the next." Peter Egan.
