I have a 1981 XS1100SH and it has black with blue metal flake paint. At first I thought it was just black but in the sun you can really see the blue. Is this the original color?

I know the 80SG was black with red metal flake and the 79 was black with gold metal flake, never seen an 81 up close.Gary Granger

My Paint is original Gary,and its Black with the Blue metalflakes,,,,,. Its the first thing some folks looked at on my bike when I pulled up to the "Garage" in New Hampshire last year, it was dark and two people shined flashliughts on it to see what color it was,,,it kinda took me by surprise,,,didn't know much about the 81SH at that point. Since then I have seen Black with Gold as well as the Blue on 81's. Gonna have to go looking for that color this winter ,as its gonna need a paint job.Ken Krieger
