So...found some like minded café/bobber guys in the area, met them, checked out their bikes, was asked to go for a ride, no problem. Three blocks from where we met, I pull up behind them at a stop sign, four of the five other rider pull right out into traffic...unfortunately, I thought all five had as I was shoulder checking left. Ended up almost plowing into the last guy, ('cause he thought a last minute car was coming), rubbed against his leg and proceeded to drop the bike onto its left side doing 5 km/hr. Broke the clutch lever, bent the bars a bit...and put a huge dent in the fuel tank. Luckily I was only a block from home. Back to re-painting again...nothing hurt more than pride (might be a while before I meet up and get asked to ride with them again), Go figure, first time I've dropped a bike in easily 10 yrs.
