So, the words nobody wants to hear. My riding season may be over. I was riding yesterday and I came out to get on my bike when I noticed a little oil on the left side of my engine. I figured OK its just a little leak so I just have to carry oil with me. Went riding more and it has become progressively worse. It is right were the gaskets are. So I'm thinking they are bad and need replaced. I know that is going to require me to pull the engine and all so yeah riding season is done. Upon further inspection and nobody laugh at this please I smelled gas. Thought it was me but looked above my starter and saw that the carbs are leaking a little also. So yay me! Not s major leak but still a leak. So looks like my winter project will be starting sooner than I like. Not to glad for all of this but hey gives me w chance to polish the bike clean it up and customize it. Not to mention I got to get a new rear tire cause mine is shot for the most part. So now the fun begins. Just got to find a spot to do all of this in my mess of a backyard without pissing off the family. I will post pics of the progress though and let everyone know how it goes. Hopefully I can get everything done this winter and not put my arm in the wood chipper on it since I'm unemployed.

Most all gaskets can be replaced with engine in bike. Gas leaks generally cause gas to leak and overflow from carbs into engine and when it gets into oil can make it foam bad for the engine. When it foams it gets sucked into filter box and puddles out on the top of the area under carbs. If the cam chain tensioner gasket leaks it flows back thew cylinders and makes a mess everywhere. You can hand cut one of them from a match book cover
    .

Before you give up identify what your actual problem is. If gas gets in oil you can usually smell it by pulling the fill plug. If gas is in the oil you have to replace it. If you have leaks from head or cylinder areas check the torq on all bolts they can lossen.

I got gaskets from the guy listed above and they were pretty good for the price. I suggest spraying gaskets with Pam cooking oil spray or some grease as the gaskets release easier latter.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Oli pan and both side covers actually need no gaskets as they have no part in clearances. Mating surfaces are machined. All three on mine have NO gasket, even though I have all three new on shelf. After doin the tranny fix 6+yrs. ago, put all backtogether with a VERY thin film of HighTempGrey silicone. Not so much as a weep.

The only gaskets I have on my bike are the head gasket and base gasket under the cylinders... I think. I wouldn't swear I even put one there at the base last time. Liquid gasket everywhere else.

Carbs leaking fuel is leaking float needles/seats. Easy fix. Oil leaking.. you didn't really specify where it is coming from. Only thing I see that would possibly end the riding season is if the crank seal was leaking because the bearings are wore out and letting it wiggle around. Gaskets or galley plug leaking.. easy fix.
