At least you will get a bit of satisfaction giving it a whack. I am not so sure you will be successful at it though. I have used that type of glue on Ski-doo hoods to hold it together when it has cracked. It works great and absorbs all the punishment I gave it. The hood actually cracked beside the melted glue repair.
Very possible that it is made up somewhat differently than the stuff I used but if a hot glue gun will melt it then it "should" stay fairly flexible in the cold as well. Might do well to check out your brands website and see if they have an easy removal for mistakenly spread glue. Seems they may have heard of issues where someone needs to get the glue off/out. JAT

Curiousity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back". Just wondering how you are making out with this experiment.

            Rodger,

Try soaking the ratchet in acetone, Xylene (or whatever the California substitute is Xylene now) and that should dissolve the plastic.

It won't be as pretty when it's not entombed in glue but you'll get the ratchet back.
