I see we're closing in a milestone for new members...#8,000! Whoever it is should win a prize or something, along with whoever does all the work behind the scenes and registers all the new members on the site! The family is getting awfully large, lotta love for these old bikes I guess.

There are only about 20 or 30 that are active though. People come and go pretty fast sometimes.Greg

Yes we need to honour those who work to keep this site and monitor it so we can enjoy it! I thank all who do it and receive minimal recognition. We do not have a huge number of members who participate but I am "Proud" of every one that does.
It is kind of a catch 22 in that if more lurkers join then the more questions are asked. Then the same old members have to recite the same old advice. But for every lurker there is a possibility that they will become a new Guru or at least a source of new info.
Others decide they have had enough of the same old questions and will simply fade away. Many of whom would would have been excellent guru's. Point is that participation on the forum is simply the key to it all.2-79 XS1100 SF

I haven't looked at the data, but I believe that most of us who participate are over 45 years old, with 50 somethings probably the biggest bunch. To the youngsters, this is just an old bike that they got for cheap. As soon as they can get something newer, they scrap the old girl and drop off the radar.Marty (in Mississippi)

It is apparent from the comments that I have read on XS11.com, that the guys (young and old) are very eager to listen to the experience found on this forum.

Getting back on topic!
And I didn't realize it when I registered Garagamus tonight, but he ended up being the 8,000 member to get registered! But as we've said before, we welcome all members, and am glad for any and all of their participation in the forums.
