I think it clears up a little, it does need the carbs sync'd which I think will help clean it up

We finished the back rest but needed spacers to install it, so all i have are pictures of the finished back rest.

The sound is good I think, much quieter than mine. Does that thing clear up when it warms up and you take it off half choke?

Great, I'll take a listen. I love the Supertrapp mod some have done. In the future, I'd like to buy another bike, cafe it, and have a sport pipe on it and jet accordingly. I currently have Mac 4-2 turnouts on. I was thinking about maybe putting the Supertrapps on.

I have no details on the exhaust other then when the PO got it it was missing the muffler so the got one and custom made the 4-1 joint.

I never had a problem with any of the 5 of the bikes I had them on. Some people have problems, most don't. Some people hear that they suck from a couple of folks and pull it. IMHO, if it works, leave it.

pros and cons for removing the octy?

I ran mine for several years and repaired it several times. I got tired of fixing it. Had it go out twice on long trips. Once I had to completely disconnect and bypass it because it was squirting fuel on the top of the engine and once I had to run on prime for about 1500 miles because the damn thing wouldn't open.

Pro= you don't have to screw with it on the road.

Pro: You get rid of some plumbing, and eliminate a vacuum valve that could fail and need to be rebuilt.

Con: You lose a safety and convenience device.

FWIW, I maintain mine, many eliminate it.

Thanks for the tip I bet its because its not even connected, there is something that looks broken on the boot I thought it a was plug that started to rot, but it maybe the vacuum hose you referred to.

But while on the on, prime, or reserve, the bike runs fine, but if on prime or on it leaks, or at least I think that is how I have it, either way I'll fix the octy

Should leak on all but off, check it out well as you may have a working octy and leaks from somewhere else ? Would be a shame to chase your tail as so many times I have only to find a cracked hose or loose fitting hose !

It's probably just old fuel line. You need to get some of THIS.

Either order it (cheaper that way) or just go to your local parts house and ask for 1/4 Tygon fuel line. They usually keep it behind the counter. You'll need about 6' if you keep the octy. 3' if you remove it.

on the left side i think it leaks at the top of the tube running down on the left.

on the right side i think it leaks at the octy I need to lift the tank to get a better view.
