I spotted that tank on ebay and fell in love with the color. Sometime in the future I would love mine painted similar to that... a deep black cherry color that fades to a lighter burgundy. Good score.

Nice find! That'll get you a bit more fuel capacity for that Special. As an 80Standard tank, should be a close color match too.

I didn't get the side covers....I wasn't planning on that....really didn't even think about them until now..oops. I was going to make a set that fit inside of the frame rails at some point......until then I'll use my black ones. I'm not sure the 80 standard side covers will fit the 80 midnight...will they? I did also grab the set of new petcocks he was selling though.

I have a GSX600F right now, I could not possibly ride it over twenty miles. My palms would be killing me from carrying my body weight on them. Not to mention having my knees permanently embedded in my stomach.

MUCH prefer the ride of the XS11. But the Katana does have some get up and move about it for sure.

She has a katana 600 I plan on running to get use to the whole sport bike thing, but I won t give up the 11. Funny to think it will be my slow ride.

Yep, it's a sickness that creeps up on you...I'll be waiting for the post about the new bike!!
Healthy is merely the slowest rate at which you can die

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That tank has a great looking paint job and the emblems seem pristine. Makes me wonder what the rest of the bike looked like.

Yes and no. The seat won't mate up to the tank as clean, so you may have to modify/bend the seat pan a little to make it look right.
Also the special tank has a resistor in it for the fuel level low light, while the standard tank has a level sending unit.
I think the units may be interchangable, but I can't remember if the holes are the same size.
