I agree... that combo 'pops' better, the others colors are common. Could use some contrasting-color striping between the two, but that's very eye-catching.

I imagine you will have a brighter maroon and grey than what is shown. Maybe even a little metal flake in it. With all the work you did shining the rest up I would not dull it down. The grey and maroon look much better than the turquoise and white.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

i prefer option 2, the turquoise and white are a good combo but it looks out of place on this bike, maybe another colour with the white might be worth trying . . .

I think the Blue and White looks decent...but I really like the 2nd pic with the red and grey metallic...that one really speaks to me..

              Keep in Stock

Paint it one of the stock colors to retain the best value. Stock color in excellent condition will be a plus for the bike. Other colors will be a strike against it when it is time to sell. If you just cannot bring yourself to paint it a stock color, paint it black. JMHO

The Grey would be a high metallic but the maroon would be regular.

I agree with the resale value but this bike will be forever mine. Im sure Ill buy something else in the future but this one will always be in the garage. Ive already got way more into it than its worth anyway.

Ive been playing with some others but nothing has really jumped out at me. Any ideas and I can pop them right into photoshop.

A bit related, if anyone is thinking of repainting and you want to see what it would look like first, feel free to email me a picture and let me know what you want and I can try to mock it up for you.

I like the turquoise. Your bike has always been one I've liked because it is unique and classy, but not gaudy at all.

How would you feel about turquoise and cream-white? Or maybe white pearl metallic.

Then there is always the sand, off white with gold accents ?

Love that blue. Colors today are so mundane, do something bright and happy. Doesn't that bright color just make you smile? I'm in the middle of restoring my 69 f250, it was originally Robin's Egg but I'm considering a shade similar to your pictured tank. It really pops.
                          1990 Ninja ZX-10. It's the Silver Surfer. HI-YA!!

2006 Yamaha XT-225. Yep, I take it on the interstate. It's Blue Butt.

1982 Toyota 4x4. 22R Cammed, 38/38, 2" pipe, 20R head with OS valves, performance grind and other fun stuff. It's Blue RASPberry.

1969 Ford F-250 Camper Special resto project. 390 RV cam, Demon carb, Sanderson headers, 2 and a quarter pipes with Magnaflow mufflers. It's Blue Jay.

                            Colour

Second pic, maroon and grey, but with solid side covers.
Side covers could be maroon or grey.

Now that I have the side car on Yami I will stay with the black frame.
The fenders tank and side covers, will be an olive green. Will paint the side car fender green too.
The rest of the side car is black.

I have collector plates on Yami and with a traditional looking side car it should look okay.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the opinions but for now there wont be any paint jobs. Plans have changed for now so those that like the blue and white win for now!
