  • I'm back.

Two years ago I had back surgery then cancer. I put my ride away while doing this. No surprise, the calipers are froze up. I am going completely through the brakes front and rear and installing SS brake lines. I put on a set of TC Bros forward controls which should allow me to shift. (Nerve damage messed my left foot up)
I look forward to having her back on the road again. I am sure I will be asking lots of questions - thanks in advance for your help!

        Hi Deny and welcome back,
hope and trust your medical problems are fixed.
Recent posts about the ol' greasegun trick should help you thaw the calipers.
Remember how heavy the XS11 is before you try propping it up with your left foot.

Welcome back Deny, and glad to see a survivor here. I too have had the big C and am glad to have that over with. Let us know what you need help with, I've just redone all my brakes in the last few days.

Missed your posts, and I'm REALLY glad you can put most of the hard stuff behind you! Remember to CLEAN behind the seals in the calipers, and the brakes should go well.
I have not had to deal with Cancer myself, but I did deal with my 15 YO son going through it. He's 27 now, so it worked well, but I can still remember the pain of hearing it!

Deny, it is good to have you back. Working on the bike is good for the body and mind. I hope you will be back on the road with it soon. I too had a round with C in 09 and a hip replacement in Jan of 12. Thank God we can make the come back.

I think I came through it better then my ride. Tank full of rust. Just hope it's not in the carbs! I had no idea a tank full of gas would rust. Oh well, it's the journey that counts. I am hoping to have it back on the road within a week baring the additional parts I haven't counted on.
