  • Come a long way in a short time - Progress -

Well, I got it 4/7/13, it was my father in laws bike that I inherited. It started as a bike that hasn't been ran or ridden in over a decade, now it's cruising again.
    I've had to
    -Rebuild both Master Cylinders
    -Rebuild all 3 brake calipers
    -Rebuild all 4 carbs
-Put a new front tire on
    -Install a new battery
-Locate an airbox and install (when I got it it had some crappy pods on it)
    -Replace the intake boots
-Performed ACCT Mod (original tensioner was leaking)
    -Performed an oil change
    -Replace accelerator cable
    -Replace spark plugs
    -Rebuild fuel petcocks
    -Got plates and title
I've taken it on a few 3-5 mile rides, up until today, today I rode it to work (35 miles away) and it handled it really well, well except in 2nd gear where it likes to chatter really bad (will more than likely have to do the modification in tech tips) but I still have the other gears. After all that I have to say thank god! for this forum, all the generosity and info has been a great help!

Glad to see you are riding it! Don't orget the REAR TIRE, as i it's over 5 years old, it WILL make it handle "funny". DAMHIKIJK

Awesome work !!! That is a lot to accomplish. But important stuff to do BEFORE you decide to go out and ride it around. Glad you took the time to get it in good working order first. Should give you miles and miles of smiles!!!
