  • Going for a little ride, Want to join?

Okay, I've decide (with a little encouragement from TC) to put together a little local ride down thru SE VA (even a little bit in NE NC) this Saturday.
I've PM'd a few local XSive and had 1 or 2 bites, but I thought I'd post it up here in a Thread for any lurkers (non registered viewers) that might want to join the ride.
    Here's the route:
    https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=W...ra=pr&t=m&z=12
It's about 90 miles round trip, so those with smaller tanks (or bad MPGs) won't have to worry about a fill up.
We'll be starting at my house and then going to the WAWA (independence and holland rd) for the 'start' of the trip. we'll gas up there.
Plan is to be at the WAWA around 12:15pm.

So, for any of you that don't have an account here at XS11, feel free to join us. (any type of bike is cool, though it would be cooler if you had an XS.)

Hey glow, are you going to the xssoutheast this year? I thought since I missed the east cause of my foot, maybe I would go to that one. We are going to myrtle this year but next year we are going to Virginia beach. I would love to meet you and TC.

Jeff, I am planning on going to XS SE this year, but haven't made any definite plans yet.
TC goes, but he goes for a week and visits family in AL.

Definitely meet up with us when you come down to VA Bch, just shoot us a PM when you're going to be here and we'll come find you.

It's 1160 miles from where you are to Stecoah, NC. 360 from there to Kansas City.

You can meet up with Bigfoot (Harry) in KC in one day. Bigfoot will meet up with trbig, and I near Ft Smith, Ar and head to NC.

Come on down, we had a great time last year.

It takes us 6 days for the trip, you'll probably need 2 more. You won't regret it.

                  Hey Charles,

You didn't slow us up, it was the cages, and the Harleykins!!

I think we had a great time, some fun roads, sweepers with a few twisties, and you haven't had the experience running the twisties like we have, it just takes time and experience and confidence will follow! I wasn't upset with your riding at all, it was just when we got stuck behind the Harley fellows, I thought George would take a jump, but he wasn't sure how "we" would react/follow....and I knew we weren't too far from the end of that road to the ferry, so that's why I just decided to "play" with a little spirited throttle action. We'll have to do it again soon...so hopefully we can start talking and planning for a July 4th weekend run!

                  T.C.

PS...just an FYI, Charles wasn't having engine trouble missing a cylinder, he was on his 850 triple which had plenty of power for the roads we were running.

Okay guys, it 'almost' official, the next tidewater ride(mini rally) will be the 6th or 7th of July up on the penisula. I'm looking at Toano/Norge and the roads around there.
Here's a little map that I just threw together:
