I saw a thread by Randy wondering how many members are women. A good question I thought, and since no one has done it yet, I figured I'd stick my neck out and ask. How many of the members here are women, and what do you ride? Is it faster than the ol' mans' bike?

    John,

Thanks for making it a poll. Now let's see what happens!

I'm actually not sure if I should answer for me or my wife. She rides but her XS750 is slower.

I guess I should have worded the poll a little differently. But hey Pat, at least she rides, and sometimes the view from the back of the pack ain't so bad.

I'm keeping her bike de-tuned so that she dosen't pass me .

On Tuesday, we were at the Yamaha dealer down the valley and SWMBO climbed on the FJR they had on the floor. She sat on one they had there about a month ago, and checked one out at the big show last spring. This time, the salesman even fired it up and offered her a helmet so she could take it for a spin. I tell you, it was THIS close! If she had brought along her riding gear, I'm sure she would have been off for a test ride and I would have been coming home alone in the cage. I'm not sure if de-tuning would be enough, unless that includes yanking a couple of plug wires...

Maybe filling a couple of cylinders with cement would slow her down

As I posted a week or so ago in another post:

SWMBO bought a 96 Yamaha XV1100 Virago with 3,500 miles on it.
It's NOT faster than my XS.
Virago group (we joined that one too) said the XV has more low-end torque..... not.

Still it's a very nice bike (with 2 fuel tanks on-board and a fuel pump ).
