    G'day everyone,
Just picked up my first XS11... A 1979 XS1100SF, needs a little TLC (tires, throttle cable, left side handlebar controls repaired and general cleanup.
I upgraded to this from a 1991 Nighthawk 750, ride just about every day, and am a certified vintage motorcycle nut.

    The day I got her:

Installed some new handlebars. Stock bars from a 2009 Triumph Scrambler.

Thanks Nate, no problem at all, from what I've seen online in the past the response to an intro post generally indicates the health of the forum community.
Will definitely stick around for tech info etc.!

I think it really also depends on the time of year, riding season just started for most of us and we don't want to be inside on the computer.

Welcome WBB, it is spring and yard work, riding, sports, riding, kid stuff, riding....did I mention riding, is upon us. I practically live here some times, but have been crazy busy lately myself.

You got a really nice looking SF there! Never had the high back seat, not sure if I would like it, but it looks in good condition.

There are plenty of members here, and can be very social as well as technical. Although, a technical question will gather alot more responses than a social thread in general. It is amazing how a tech question will usually have an answer in 20-30 minutes tops.

Welcome. SW MO is good riding area. Maybe we have to stop by sometime.

I would be in ES with the guys this weekend if I was not already traveling.

Thanks John! I'd have been out there too except I was floating down a river with my 4yo on his first canoeing/camping/fishing trip...

Only issue I see there is that you'd be limited on how many Foster's Oil Cans you can fit in there...
Mind you, I don't recommend anyone drinks Foster's so that's probably not an issue at all!

I hate to say it, but if you need to take a can of Fosters with you on a day trip, you better stay at home, and fix some gaskets, or get another engine with some servicable rings. CZ

But loading a side case with Busch Light is OK?

You could have had the opporunity to crash your bike YOURSELF.
