Got lucky

Got a battery cover a while back, sanded,primed and painted it. Looked ok not a perfect match....anyway I noticed it fell off today and was bummed to say the least, I went and back tracked and was lucky enough to find it on the side of the road a few miles out of town. scratch up and a few chips but considering I found it and not in pieces I felt very fortunate.
Re sanded, primed and 1st coat back on. The old saying "even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while" holds true.

That is a lucky day indeed. Now be sure to look at the latch and such to ensure it stays on this time.

Just to add to what has been posted...New rubbers for the tops of most side covers are still available from Yamaha and other suppliers which will tighten the side covers up so they do not fall or blow off.
