And to spice that gloss black up a bit, add a small amount of gold micro-flake.

I would, but if I did I would have to do the same with the trailer that that would break the bank. I'll post some pics of the trailer when it's finished. It's only small but there's a lot of surface area.

All things so far considered, I'm leaning towards gloss black. The painter I've found is flat out for the next few weeks anyway so I've got plenty of time to make up my mind. The trailer will be gloss black, that's for certain.

Here are some pics of the trailer as it is now, before I have it modified.

The sides will be straightened out and the roof vents will be going.

                Hi Steve,
What goes in the side pockets and do you still have them?
I see extra fuel for when you travel the endless plains.
Or water for when you run out of gas.
Or cold packs to keep the steaks from going bad.
Whatever, best you paint bike & trailer to match.

Hey Fred, haven't spoken with you in a goodly while Those are indents/depressions built to take an old style CRT television tube, one on each side. It was originally built as an advertising trailer. All the television works and jerks were inside the trailer along with the power source hence the roof vents. There is bugger all room inside the trailer really,

so I'll be flattening out the sides (or at least the fibreglass fabricators will) and removing the roof vents. He'll be painting it gloss black into the bargain so I figure with gold pinstriping like that on the bike, the trailer and bike should match quite nicely.

I really hate to be a nannie, but you had better take REAL good care of the bearings. That size tire, at 65mph, is going about twice as fast as I would think would be a safe rpm.
In fact, a spare tire with bearings would probably not take up too much room. JAT, CZ

Well it was designed to be pulled behind a bike at highways speeds. The rims are 8" with radial ply tyres. I was thinking of getting a spare and attaching it to the tailgate under a fibreglass mould of some kind, might look good. Vehicle rules are pretty strict here and the trailer carries a compliance plate.

I will need to keep an eye on tyre pressures though.

LOL. Now THAT is a real curiosity. I know you Aussies have some strange stuff down there, but why would you have a bike trailer that had a TV on both sides, rated for highway speeds?
Let alone more than one, since that looks like the body shell came out of a mold, and you don't usually make a mold unless there are multiples of the product made.
                        Yep, a real curiosity.

Advertisers have lots of money, how many Goodyear Blimps are there? Every one of them are rated airworthy by the FAA!
