  • Any one familiar with Solid Works 3d CAD?

    Hey there folks,

I'm posting the following XSPlus2 email request from TKAT on his behalf, he doesn't visit the site, but he's sure done a lot for our community with regards to his FORK BRACE that he makes. I've seen folks post about CAD programs, so hopefully someone is familiar with what he's talking about and could lend him a hand. He can be reached at his email address: tkat(at)tkat.com you know how to fix the address! Thanks in advance!
    T.C.

A'one on this list reasonably proficient in the use of this CAD pgm?

I've been throw'n lead @ velum for 60 yrs & work'n w/ 2D CAD close to 40 so I'm no novice. Now some of my clients want to send me 3D S/W pgms for my design input, rework, prototyp'n, &c. That means I've gotta learn the pgm. 2do that I signed up for an on-line JC course but it is 2 involved 4 that & it wud take a reg lecture class 2do it justice.

I've a boot-leged 2012 system copy & the college class textbook. So far I've been battl'n my way thru the S/W pgm tutorials which has been quite frustrat'n. Also I've tried follow'n the college class book which is even worse written. A'way, I'd sure like 2 find s'one who knows what they're do'n in the system that I cud quiz 4 mthds & ans.

Were the college lab closer I cud take a 1 unit course there & spend time when they were open. But most of my available time is on the w/e. Needless 2 say, Carolyn's gett'n pretty grumpy about me sitt'n @ screen 4 long hrs & ignor'n her. Believe, NOT a happy situation.

    A'one out there?

T.C., I'll check with a friend who is on that "side of the hill" and see if he knows of someone. I know two people over here that use it, but it's a 45 mile drive to TKats place from here.

I might be able to field some questions and give him help. Unfortunately I havent used 3D modeling in a little while but might be able to help a struggling guy out. I know there are some others on here that might do it for a living, will have to wait for them to chime in.
