  • A run of bad luck

Sorry I just have to vent.On Dec 31st they discover I have an aneuysm behind my left knee. Immediate surgery is required or I may loose my foot.So on Jan 2 we head for Portland and have vascular surgery on the 4th.All is well until the fallow up visit 10 days later.I have developed an infection around the drain tubes and another surgery is required.1 week later I return home and all seems ok other than I am in an unusual amount of pain.Last Wed night I'm making myself a snack and blood starts shooting out of the incision about 2 to 3 feet.Call 911 get to hospital bleeding has stopped. After about 2 hours they decide to send me home and as I'm waiting to get into the car it starts shooting blood again. So they air life me to Portland and 2 more surgeries are required one to fix the vascular graph and one to clean up the lower leg.So they sent me home Tue with a wound pump and I feeling better every day so far.So I haven't been able to ride on these few nice days we've had lately. But I'm sure I'll be better when spring riding season kicks in.Thanks for letting me vent I had to tell someone and I'm sure my wife is getting tired of hearing me b!$*h.Moral of story don't let the doctors get their hands on you LOL. I thought having surgery on my tooth, last Monday sucked... Oh man!!! Terry, I'm sorry to hear of your ordeal. When it rains, it pours I guess. Sometimes B!$*hin' is the good medicine. Hope you get better soon, with no more complications.

I am sorry to hear the ordeal your going through. Certainly sucks to find out you need immediate surgery, but for that to turn into three session and gushing blood in the ER, WOW. That is crazy.

If it helps, they say all things come in threes, so you should be in the clear now. As for the B!Tchn, just tell her your making up for all the years of her jumpin' on her monthly cycle and running your azz over.

As frustrated as you are with your progress, it sounds like you're making good progress. We lost my brother-in-law to an Aneurysm last year. My sister still mourns his loss.

Kiss your better half and remind her how lucky she is to still have you and your cranky disposition around...

                Knee's

Glad your on the mend and safe.
Not trying to hijack here but my sister in law went into the hospital four years ago to have her knee's replaced. One leg went ok but the other not so good. She caught one of those super infections and it went into the bone. Over the course of the last four years she's had the new knee taken out and a concrete spacer put in several times while they fought the infection. She's been in a wheelchair the whole time. Finally put the knee back in for the last time and had her up doing physical therapy and noticed that the good knee was installed sideways. Had to take it out and reinstall correctly. That was a few months ago.
Guess what, the infection has returned and is now in the bone of both legs. The doctors say there is nothing they can do. They offered to remove both knees and permanently install concrete spacer or just amputate both legs.
Moral of the story,"never think things can't get any worse".
So spend everyday doing the things you love and tell your wife and kids you love them and take the time to show them how much. Riding season will soon upon all of us, stay alert and be safe but enjoy every minute.
