Halogen lights are great! But you should really change them before they burn out.

(A Valkyrie in the pic, but the XS also uses the H-4 (now known as the 9003)

The low beam on my H-4 bulb burned out in 1982 and I road around with the reduced voltage high beam (and a spare bulb) waiting for the high beam to go. I finally just changed the bulb last year, got tired of waiting.

Headlight housing

Bought same headlight housing from auto parts store, am happy with the light output but have had a heck of a time getting it aimed properly. Any advice.
