Need help with painting

Hey can anybody give me some tips on how to go about painting my gas tank and side covers for my XS Eleven Special? I need to know what kind of paint to use and what are the proper steps.

I'm not a paint person at all. I get arrested for handling a rattle can as it can be a dangerous weapon...

Did you try a search for paint? I recall several posts on this.

I know there are a few on here with experience...
