  • Super Bowl?

Just wondering if there are any football fans out there. Any predictions? It should be a good game and I think Baltimore will win (24-20). The wife and I are cooking up some chili and assorted snacks. I wired up the projector in the basement and we will watch HD on a 105" screen.

    Football

Both my div favourites are out but I'll be watching. Making the chili right now. 5 gallons worth. My little 72" HD TV will have to do.
My hearts with baltimore cuz I'd like to see Ray Lewis go out on a high note, but I think the 49er will walk all over them. Problem with Baltimore is, you never know which Joe Flacco will show up at the game. If his recievers are dead on they will catch some bombs but he does like to throw into coverage and I think turn overs will be the deciding factor.

Baltimore reminds me last years Giants. They have already beaten the two Superbowl favorites in New England and Denver. I think it all depends on Kapernick. If he starts slowly and plays like a rookie they may not be able to come back against the Ravens. They faced two poor defenses in Atlanta and against Green Bay. San Frans pas defense was shredded by Atlanta last week and if the Falcons hadn't have turned the ball over twice in 49ers territory the Falcons would have one. The Ravens should be able to go down the field all day on the 49'ers. Also, the 49ers had next to no pass rush against Atlanta and that spells trouble. However, anything can happen and probably will. It is refreshing that Super Bowl games are much closer than they use to be. I remember a steady diet of blow outs in the 70's, 80' and 90's.

          Super Bowl

Well, the line is four (4) points favoring SF to win. This is pretty much a sucker bet I do believe. I am not a total Falcon fan any more, but I used to be. I agree that they had every opportunity to beat SF. However, Atlanta needs much help defensively either in coaches, players, or maybe both.

I feel also that SF should win, but I would not bet on them giving up the 4 points, nor would I take the Ravens with only 4 points. I guess we will just have to wait till Sunday and see. And mack - you may have to get real close to that little 72" set to be able to see it clearly - LOL!

If a 'back and forth' close game, would be good for those watching. At this level, any one team can beat the other on an given Sunday, just whatever team 'brings it'. Gonna have to give the '9ers' this one though.

              Tv

I bought it for the rec room so I could watch TV without having to wear glasses. Perfect for football. It's really the only thing I'll sit and watch. We have family movie night every week but I have three daughters and SWMBO. I fall asleep during the chick flicks. Kids love playing games on it though. But when it's football, the room belongs to daddy.

                    Super Bowl

We should all just go to the game instead of staying at home and watching it. There is still time and there are plenty of tickets left. So let's get online and order them up. The prices are reasonable. They start at $1249for the cheap seats, but the ones that we want are only $9700. What a great deal! Let's go!!!

I'll be watching at a friends house, with about 30 other people. My thing is salsa fresca, made with habinero for a kick. I do make a "wimpy" version, without the kick, or berry flavor of habinero's. The game should be close, and fun to watch. I DO hope the 9ers pull it off, but as others have said, we have to see who comes out to play.

                          Chili

Phil: I won't eat the 5 gallons myself, my kids love the chili and my daughter had a sleep over with a bunch of her friends last night so they were into it. test subjects as I like to think of them. I'll have a house full of guys around supper time for the kick off so thats were the other 3.5 gallons will go.

Well all I can say is...

Superdome is right down the street and things around here (with the start of Mardi Gras mixed in) are a big PARTY as usual.

Now of the two teams, SF seems to be more at home and more at ease here right now. They seem to be having fun and have the advantage of practicing at the Saints facility whereas the Ravens are practicing at Tulane University. While that is a fine facility it is not an NFL facility with a gigantic indoor practice building as well as outdoor fields. Also, the Ravens seem to be more up-tight and all business about the game and that usually turns into a loss.

                            So...I'm pick'in SF by 10
