Well, it's surprising that it's on the MSF site, because it's B.S. The Motion of the grid has nothing to do with it, it's the Staring at the one location, and the steady position of the yellow dots that make them disappear. The moving grid remains visible because it's moving and constantly stimulating receptors all over the retina. The Yellow dots are not moving, and so they are stimulating the same receptors with the same amount and color of light, so it's causes those receptors to use up their chemicals reacting to the light and sending their impulses to the brain, but then it takes a while for the receptors to recharge/refill themselves with the required chemicals to allow the light/chemical/electrical reaction to occur again.
